Electric vehicle sales are increasing year after year. New record in 2022! Approximately 75 million vehicles were sold in 2022 globally, and 10.5 million of those are EVs. It represents approximately 14% market share in 2022, and that number is expected to increase in 2023.
Breaking it down further, 7.6 million (73%) were pure battery electric (BEV) and 2.8 million (27%) were PHEV (engine + battery).
Pure ICE vehicle sales are decreasing year after year. But do not worry. This is a natural tendency when a new/better/more efficient technology hits the mass adoption market. Afterwards, we need to move on!
