EV charging and lamp posts at the back of the footpath – but what about the trailing cables?
This is something we would NEVER do at ubitricity. Through our defined professional surveying process if we had a request to use a lamp post that is located at the back of the footpath, we would either state the many reasons it can’t be used or recommend installing an ubitricity satellite bollard (see image).
By undertaking a managed controlled dig across the footpath and burying the supply cable from the lamp column, we can use the spare energy capacity in the lamp column and power a ubitricity satellite bollard delivering 5kW EV charging at front of footbath.
