EV Chargers and Installation Tip O' the Day

So my question is who wants to heat up their business, for free. Yes, I said free!

I would like to think that everyone is aware of the NEVI grant for free EV chargers and installation in the State of Texas. I would also like to think I am filthy rich, but that, is not the case. So let's restate the facts. Here are the main requirements for receiving the grant (a total of $60 million).

Having your business located within a mile of an Interstate highway here in Texas. The first locations will spoke out of the main cities in Texas so this would include: Interstate 35, 45, 10, 20, 635, and more. Charging locations will receive 4 fast chargers and installation for FREE, if they are chosen for the grant. The chargers will be placed every 50 miles, so that's a lot of locations, some of which will be in more rural locations. 

Why is that important? Because, it is unlikely any one business will get all of these chargers. So everyone who meets the requirements have a chance. You might only have five locations that fit the requirements or you may have 100. But you do have a chance.

Consider the fact that Texas has the fourth largest number of EV's in the U.S. Who would have thought the Oil capital was this high up among all States? Consider the fact that Texas has over 3,500 miles of interstate highways. So chargers every fifty miles, that's a crapload! (I cleaned that up!)
