Do We Really Know What Type of EV Charging Will be Preferred by Drivers Who Can’t Charge at Home?

This question was asked on another post at the weekend and I would love to open the floor.

We tried to research this a few years back in the North East but could not find enough EV drivers in this situation to give us any meaningful Intel. And there won’t be a one-size fits all answer either.

My personal experience is that I want my charging to be as close as I can possibly get to home charging. AC charging, plugging in at night somewhere close to home, waking with a full charge in the morning - whether that’s on-street, lamppost charging or even a local charging hub.




Opinions please. Do we have any EV drivers in this situation? What does the industry think? Are there any places where this has been done at-scale and effectively? Has anyone done any research on this topic?
